When you create a new Segment, that Segment may consist of just one or many different Filters.

Where you have a Segment with one Filter, you can leave the drop down as "Match all of the following".

But where you have more than one Filter, Engage allows you to pick from a drop-down menu of four options to determine exactly how the Filters will be applied to the Segment you are creating.

Match any of the following: Use this to target Devices who meet any one, or more, of the Filters. So in the example below the message would be sent not just to those individuals currently located in the VENUE region, but also to Dance fans, and to Indie fans, and to Rock fans (regardless if they are currently present in the Region named VENUE, or if they are Rock fans whether they like Dance and/or Indie too).

Match all of the following: Use this when you want a message to be sent only to Devices which meet the criteria of ALL of the Filters. Here's an example where only those individuals present in the Region called VENUE currently AND who are Dance fans AND who are Indie fans AND who are Rock fans will be targeted. So a much tighter target group:

Match all of the following in order: Use this when you want a message to be sent only to Devices which meet the listed Filter criteria in the order you have set out. This is useful for example when your different Filters are time based. If you do want to use ordering we recommend you notify us so we can ensure the specific use case is supported.

Match # or more of the following: Use this when you want a message to be sent only to Devices which meet at least the specified number of Filters (but maybe more). So for example, you could have 5 qualification criteria (i.e. different Filters) but want to ensure messages go to those Devices which meet at least 2 of the 5.
